Creeping thyme is otherwise called thyme or Bogorodskaya herb. A perennial shrub with a woody stem and herbaceous branches up to 35 cm high. The flowers are pink-lilac, collected in globular capitate inflorescences. Thyme leaves are used as a spice in cooking. Due to its long-lasting carpet flowering, pleasant aroma and the ability to quickly fill empty spaces, thyme is widely used in ornamental gardening for the construction of rock gardens. In folk medicine, thyme is used as an analgesic, anti-inflammatory, expectorant. Good honey plant. Growing conditions: sowing in open ground – in early spring, with a row spacing of 35 cm. In the phase of the first true leaf, the plants are thinned at a distance of 20 cm. Thyme prefers well-moist, fertile, neutral soils. In one place it grows up to 5 years. Seedlings bloom in the second year. Prefers extremely sunny places. The plants are harvested during the period of full flowering, without pulling out the roots, dried in the open air in the shade.
