Annual, creeping, strongly branched plant 10-15 cm high. Flowers are double and semi-double, 3-4 cm in diameter, bright pink in color, open on clear, sunny days. Leaves are greenish-gray in color, alternate, small. In landscape design, purslane is used to decorate borders, as a decoration for retaining rocky walls. CONDITIONS OF GROWING. Sowing in April-May is superficial, under glass or under film. Seeds germinate in 7-10 days. The plant is light and heat-loving, drought-resistant. In case of insufficient light, the seedlings stretch out and usually die. Landing in open ground is carried out when the threat of frost has passed. The landing site is chosen warm, dry and certainly sunny. It reproduces easily by self-seeding. An earthen mixture containing peat significantly complicates the germination of purslane seeds. Blooms from June until frost.
