Perennial essential oil medicinal and ornamental plant 60-100 cm high with large pink-violet flowers, collected in a paniculate inflorescence and large (length and width 10-15 cm) pubescent gray-green leaves. Blooms in June-August for a month. The growing season is 95-100 days. Photophilous, drought-resistant and thermophilic, undemanding to soils. The plant does not tolerate recurrent spring frosts, so it must be covered during this period. Grown by direct sowing in the ground or by seedling. Sowing is carried out before winter or early spring. The area of plant nutrition is 20×40 cm. For seedlings, sowing is carried out at the end of March, planting – at the end of May. Inflorescences and leaves have medicinal properties. The leaves are harvested before flowering and used as a spicy seasoning. The entire aerial part, collected during flowering, used for therapeutic baths for joint diseases. Broths are used for urolithiasis, tachycardia, cough.
