An annual plant with a short, highly branching stem. Small inflorescences form in the leaf axils. After flowering, the cups grow and turn into juicy berries. Its dark green leaves taste like spinach, and its berries are like raspberries or strawberries. The leaves of young plants can be used to make salads.
