An unpretentious and cold-resistant perennial plant. It will grow well in a remote corner of the garden and grow into a large colony over time. Early ripe variety. The period from regrowth (in the third year after sowing the seeds) to the beginning of the economic shelf life of the petioles is 36 days. The rosette of leaves is semi-vertical. The leaf is large, ovate, slightly bubbly, green, with a strong wavy edge. The petiole is medium, green with solid cherry anthocyanin pigmentation at the base, the flesh is green. Used for multiple cuts. Recommended for fresh and canned use. Care and cleaning: consists in the early spring digging of row spacings with the introduction of humus, peat with the addition of mineral fertilizers. During the summer, two to three times loosening of the soil is carried out. This will cut the flower stems. Irrigation of the site improves the quality of products and lengthens the period of arrival of the crop. The crop can be harvested 2 times a year: in spring and summer. When collecting, carefully separate the petioles at the very base of the plant. Do not wait for the stems to reach their maximum thickness (medium-sized petioles are much softer and tastier), and do not take more than 2/3 of all the stems of the plant at the same time. Cut off the leaves immediately after harvest – they are toxic due to their high oxalic acid content! In the fall, the bush is mulched to help the plant winter better. It can grow in one place for 10-12 years, but from 5-6 years of age, the leaves and petioles become small, less juicy. Landing: carried out directly into the ground in the beds prepared in the fall. Likes sunny or partial shade location and moist, permeable soils with a high humus content. The seeds are pre-soaked in water until they swell, and then germinated under wet gauze, moistening from time to time with water. As soon as white sprouts 1-2 mm long appear, the seeds are dried and sown in moist soil. Sow in late April – early May in an ordinary way with a row spacing of 25 cm.The sowing depth is 2-3 cm.When 1-2 leaves are formed, they are thinned out at a distance of 20 cm.
