A unique hybrid of red onions from Bayer Nunhems. Kauntach F1 is a mid-season onion hybrid for long-term storage. The growing season is 115-120 days after germination. The bulbs are round, with an average weight of 70-90 g, dense, attractive red-violet color and high quality outer scales. The inner scales are thick, very juicy and crunchy. With proper observance of the conditions of cleaning and drying, it can be stored for 6-7 months. Excellent salad taste. The seeds are treated with Thiram fungicide. Do not soak when planting. GROWING CONDITIONS: suitable for growing, both direct sowing and through seedlings. Prefers fertile, non-acidic soils. Seeds are sown to a depth of 1.0-1.5 cm. To get large onions, the feather is not plucked on the greens. Care consists in weeding, loosening, watering. Watering is stopped a month before harvesting. Harvesting of marketable onions is carried out when the leaves begin to turn yellow and lodge (usually in August). If you are late with harvesting, onion growth resumes, the bulbs become unsuitable for long-term storage. The bulbs are dug up and dried well. Harvesting is best done when 80-90% of the tops are lodged.
