Perennial spicy, medicinal plant, reaching a height of 2 m. It has a thick, branched root. The stem is hollow, branched at the top. The leaves are large, feathery, dark green in color. The plant has a strong spicy aroma. Small yellowish flowers at the tops of the stems are collected in complex umbrellas. Blooms in June – July, seeds ripen in July – August. Cold hardy, winters well. Features of cultivation: sown before winter or early spring directly into open ground. The soil should be light and moist, but without stagnant water. Planting is carried out in rows: row spacing – 70 cm, the interval between plants – 60 cm. Caring for lovage includes regular loosening and weeding. With insufficient moisture, lovage will acquire a bitter taste. Application: use fresh leaves for the preparation of tinctures and marinades.
