An unpretentious plant from the Flax family, 50 cm high. It blooms in June-August. Flowers 3-4 cm in diameter, bright scarlet with silky petals, collected in spectacular inflorescences. Photophilous and cold-resistant, undemanding to soils. Unpretentious, but prefers sunny areas with light soils without stagnant water. Propagated by direct sowing in open ground in spring or before winter. Seedlings are thinned out at a distance of 10 cm. Used to decorate the site, planting in groups. For bouquets, flax is pulled out by the roots in the budding phase, the roots are cut off and immediately put into water.
