PLAYGROUND lawn grass mixture (Playground) – has a high growth rate and endurance of its constituent herbs. Underground shoots of meadow bluegrass and red fescue create a strong turf that quickly recovers after intense play on the lawn. Recommended for sports fields and lawn areas with high foot traffic. Composition: 25% – Pasture ryegrass, 60% – Red fescue, 15% – Meadow bluegrass Seeding rate: 30-40 g per sq. meter. Preparing the soil for the lawn: The area intended to create a lawn must be carefully prepared. It is advisable to treat weed vegetation with herbicides before digging the land. It is recommended to dig the earth to a depth of at least 30 cm, while removing stones and plant roots. In the top layer of the soil to a depth of no more than 10-15 cm, it is necessary to lay fertilizers, according to the recommendations of the fertilizer manufacturer. If you use complex mineral fertilizers that contain basic macro- and microelements, it is usually recommended to apply 5 kg of fertilizer per 100 square meters of future lawn for the initial application. After fertilization, the soil must be carefully leveled and strongly compacted. Sowing seeds: The optimal time for sowing lawn grass seeds is the second half of spring (April-May) and late summer, early autumn (August-September). These periods of time are usually suitable for sowing seeds, since at this time the soil is sufficiently well moistened and the average daily air temperature is most often above +10 C, which is required for germinating lawn grass seeds. If the soil is not sufficiently moist, it must be watered very abundantly before sowing the seeds. Sowing is best done in calm weather. The standard seeding rate for lawn grass seeds is 30-40 grams per square meter. After sowing, the top layer of soil must be carefully and not deeply mixed with the seeds and compacted. The optimum seeding depth is 1 cm. If dry and hot weather sets in after sowing and the topsoil begins to dry out quickly, the soil needs to be watered. Watering is recommended in small droplets and so that puddles of water do not form on the soil surface. Otherwise, seeds will be washed out of the soil, since newly planted seeds are lighter than water and float well. Grooming: Regular mowing and feeding is the key to creating an emerald, velvety lawn that is resistant to trampling and weeds. The first mowing after sowing is carried out when the grass reaches a height of 10-12 cm. During the first mowing, it is important that the soil is slightly dry, this will protect plants with a still poorly developed root system from being pulled out at the time of mowing. The height of the first mowing should not be less than 6 cm. The subsequent mowing of a new lawn during the first season is recommended to be done at a height of at least 3-4 cm. top dressing, especially if a mower with a collector is used for mowing or the grass is collected after mowing. It is usually recommended to fertilize after every second mowing during the entire period of active growth of the lawn grass, from about the second half of May to the beginning of September. Lawn feeding rates are indicated by the fertilizer manufacturer, depending on the mass fraction of macro- and microelements contained in the fertilizers. Usually, for complex mineral fertilizers for the lawn, it is recommended to apply 3 kg of fertilizer per 100 square meters of lawn. Fertilizers are spread evenly over the lawn after mowing the grass.
