A beautifully flowering woody liana with numerous stems forming dense plexuses, up to 5-7 m high. The leaves are pinnate, of 3 or 5-7 leaflets, usually three-lobed, with a solid or jagged edge. The flowers are numerous, white, 1-2 cm in diameter, set on long pedicels, collected in elongated racemose inflorescences. Blooms in July. Clematis prefers sunny, sheltered from the wind, fertile, loose, sandy loam or loamy soil. Care consists in regular and abundant watering, weeding, dressing. Frost resistant. Adult plants tolerate temperatures as low as -23 – 25 degrees. Able to winter in the Middle Lane without removing the vine from the support and without trimming the aerial part.
