The flowers are large, red-black (violet-black) in color, 9-15 cm in diameter, collected in a large spectacular inflorescence-brush. Photophilous and drought-resistant, undemanding to soils, but prefers areas with well-cultivated fertile soil without stagnant water. It is advisable to cover for the winter. Grown by direct sowing in open ground in May. It is used for planting in groups, mixborders, for decorating walls of buildings and hedges, as well as for getting a cut.
