A perennial plant from the Malvov family, cultivated as a biennial, up to 2-2.5 m high. It blooms from late June to September. Terry flowers are dark red, 8-12 cm in diameter, collected in a large spectacular inflorescence-brush. Photophilous and drought-resistant, undemanding to soils, but prefers areas with well-cultivated fertile soil. It is advisable to cover for the winter. Grown by direct sowing in open ground in May. Can be sown in the second half of summer. In this case, the plants will bloom the next year. It is used for planting in groups, mixborders, for decorating walls of buildings and hedges, as well as for getting a cut.
