Perennial herb up to 50 cm tall. Leaves are small, linear-lanceolate, arranged in regular order. Blue flowers up to 2 cm in diameter. Blooms in June – July. Requires open, sunny places, achieves better development on light, fertile soils. Propagated by seeds, cuttings and dividing the bush. Seeds are sown before winter or spring. Flowering begins in the second year after sowing. Plants grown from seeds bloom more abundantly, stronger than when dividing the bush, which is carried out in April or August. The planting pattern is 15×20 cm. Flax is very effective in joint plantings with other perennials and flower beds with bright annuals, looks good with herbal cloves, yellow sedum, and white Carpathian bells.
