Excellent feeding qualities. A valuable forage crop with a high content of sugar, vitamin C, proteins, carbohydrates and mineral salts. Medium late variety. The period from germination to harvest is 140 155 days. Root crops with an interception in the middle, cylindrical, without lateral ramifications, pink-red color, grayish head. The pulp is juicy, white. The variety is not picky about soil fertility, cold-resistant, perfectly stored. It is characterized by excellent feeding qualities. Excellent feed for animals, namely for cattle, leads to an increase in milk production of cows. GROWING CONDITIONS: seeds are sown into the ground at the end of April – beginning of May to a depth of 2-3 cm in rows with row spacing of 25-30 cm and a distance between seeds of 8-10 cm. Thinning is not required with this sowing pattern. Further care consists in loosening, regular watering and feeding. The best predecessors for Eckerndorf pink beets are annual forage grasses, potatoes, and silage maize.
