Margelan radish is a two-year garden crop of the Cabbage family. In the first year, the forehead forms a rosette consisting of 12-15 large leaves, and a massive (weighing 300-600 g) root crop. In the second year, the plant throws out peduncles and forms seeds (in the case of especially early sowing of seeds, the Margelan radish goes into bloom already in the first year of life and does not form edible root crops).
