Clove basil: Clove basil (not to be confused with “purple”) is a compact, early maturing (30–40 days from germination to the first cut of greenery) plant 30–40 cm high. The leaves are large, elongated, bright green, slightly cut along the edge. The aroma is strong, with a clove or clove-anise flavor. Grown through seedlings, seeds are sown at the end of March. Seedlings appear in 10-12 days, after which the plants must be thinned out to a distance of 5 cm. Planting seedlings in open ground – in early June. Landing scheme 30x30cm. Basil prefers well-structured, humus-rich soils. Needs regular watering. Ideal for growing in pots on balconies and loggias.
