Quite large flowers (from 3 to 7 cm) are collected in a racemose or paniculate inflorescence. The non-double flower has five colored sepals; upper – with a spur (hence one of the names). There are terry varieties. The color of the flower is all shades of white, pink, red and blue. The presence of calcium in the soil increases the color intensity. Low-growing varieties bloom from early July, tall ones from mid-July. On loose, slightly acidic substrates filled with peat, delphinium blooms better than on dense loams and chernozems. Sandy soils are unsuitable, as they dry out quickly in the summer. Delphiniums reproduce by seeds, which are sown in March in a greenhouse. Seedlings are planted in the ground in mid-May
