This interesting and attractive coniferous tree with a “geographic” trunk, up to 25-30 m high, has a decent reputation, it has long been planted in the mountainous regions of China around temples and palaces. Quite often, the Bunge pine grows in the form of a multi-stemmed tree. The trunk is original, with a smooth surface, with an unusual light gray color of the bark, peeling off with thin plates; the new, young bark has an unusual white color. Young shoots are gray-green, the crown is wide, light. The needles are 5-10 cm long, collected in bundles of 3. Cones are light brown, resinous, formed singly or in 2, 5-6 x 4-5 cm in size, with bent back spines at the scales (scutes). The plant is unpretentious to soils, drought-resistant, light-loving and quite thermophilic, ideal for mass planting in the southern regions, in the zone of the Middle Lane, it is recommended to land in a place protected from the wind, preferably from the south; shelter for the winter with covering material, especially young pines. Propagated by seeds. Sowing is carried out in autumn or spring after 2-3 months of stratification in a moist substrate in a refrigerator. Used in single and group landings.
