A plant cultivated as an annual of the Labiate family, shoot height up to 30 cm. Abundant flowering from June to frost. The flowers are purple-red, clustered in a racemose inflorescence 14-20 cm long. Prefers sunny areas with loose, moderately fertile soils, can grow in partial shade.
