An annual herb with a powerful stem, 40 cm high. Erect dark purple inflorescences turn chocolate brown in autumn. The leaves are large, oblong-ovate, green, with the onset of cold weather – multi-colored. The plant is thermophilic, does not tolerate frost, grows well in sunny, wind-protected areas with fertile, drained and sufficiently moist soil. Blooms from June until frost. Seedlings are sown in April (rises in 4-6 days), in open ground – in May (shoots appear in 12-20 days). Recommended for single and group plantings on the lawn, for rabatki, cutting. It is widely used in floristry.
