Red clover (meadow) is an excellent honey plant, honey bees actively visit blooming clover, collect nectar and pollen from it. Red clover is especially well suited for fresh, humic, and cohesive, loose soil rich in lime. This perennial type of clover is an excellent green forage used to produce clover hay. Meadow clover is picky about moisture, but does not tolerate excess of it. It develops well on loamy and sandy loam soils, chernozems. In the first year of life, a red clover develops only a basal rosette, flowering shoots grow in the second year. From the second year, under normal conditions, clover blooms and bears fruit annually. The life span of meadow clover, depending on the growing conditions, ranges from 2-3 to 10-15, sometimes up to 25 years. Consumption 0.5 kg per 100 m2.
