A perennial plant with a strong pleasant aroma and a spicy, slightly bitter taste from the Lipo family. The plant is up to 50 cm high, with matte green ovoid leaves, covered with soft bristly hairs. Small light purple flowers, collected in corymbose inflorescences. Blooms from July to September. In cooking, fresh and dried leaves and young shoots are used as a seasoning for vegetable and meat dishes, for canning and making tea drinks. Oregano (oregano) has medicinal properties, its infusion is used as an expectorant for respiratory diseases, to stimulate appetite and improve digestion, and treat gynecological diseases. Seedlings are sown in March. Seedlings are planted in open ground in May – June, leaving 20-30 cm between plants, 50-60 cm between rows.
