Marigolds are widespread in decorative gardening. The plant is erect, strongly branched from the base, forms a flowering bush 25 cm high. The leaves are “openwork”, pinnately dissected. Inflorescences up to 6 cm in diameter. Long-lasting flowering throughout the summer. Marigolds are light-requiring and thermophilic, drought-resistant. They are undemanding to soils, but they prefer fertile light soils. They are usually grown in seedlings.
