Petrovskaya belongs to mid-ripening turnips, from the emergence of shoots to the maturation of root crops 60–84 days pass. Young sprouts do not differ from radishes, and their real leaves are the same, only larger. But the seeds are smaller than those of radishes. The root crop can grow round, but more often it is flattened, and at the bottom it is also concave. The peel is yellow, shiny, the flesh is the same color, very firm. The mass of one turnip is 60–150 g, but often reaches 500 g or more. Productivity 1 m? – 1.6-3.2 kg. The purpose of Petrovskaya turnip is fresh consumption, but you can add pieces of it to soups, stews, ferment, pickle. Root crops are well stored in the cellar in winter, but by February they lose their aroma, taste and original juiciness, although they look absolutely fresh outwardly, as if they were just picked from the garden. The taste seems sweet to some gardeners, to others – bitter.
