Deciduous shrub 2-3 m tall with widely spreading shoots drooping at the ends. Leaves are oval-lanceolate to lanceolate, dark green above, tomentose-pubescent below. During the flowering period, Buddleya David resembles a lilac and is so attractive that it becomes a place of “pilgrimage” for butterflies of a wide variety of colors. The flowers are very fragrant, collected in long, up to 40 cm lilac-pink inflorescences, which are laid on the shoots of the current year. Flowering lasts from late July to October. Prefers warm, sunny places, fertile, rather moist soils. Young shoots are resistant to spring frosts. Used for decoration of gardens and parks, single groups on the lawn. It goes well with low-growing jasmines, spireas, perennial flower crops. Blooms from the age of three.
