A popular herb with a pleasant aroma, known as “Virgin Mary herb”. Perennial up to 25 cm tall with a creeping woody stem. The leaves are small, dark green. The flowers are small, pink, collected at the end of the branches in capitate inflorescences. The plant is light-loving, drought and frost-resistant. Thyme has a pleasant aroma and slightly bitter taste. In cooking, it is used as a seasoning, as a spice for canning vegetables, added to tea. For medicinal purposes, grass is used (stems, leaves, flowers). It has a sedative, analgesic, antispasmodic, expectorant, anti-inflammatory, wound healing effect. After 3-4 years, planting is resumed by sowing seeds or cuttings.
