Early tender green sprouts with a pleasant mildly spicy taste, reminiscent of horseradish, rich in vitamins, iodine, potassium and other microelements. They are used for food already 15 days after germination – for preparing salads, as a seasoning for meat dishes. Seeds are sown thickly, in small containers with light soil. It is undemanding to soils, grows better in diffused sunlight. To obtain fresh greens throughout the summer, watercress is sown at several times with an interval of 10-15 days. Sowing is carried out to a depth of 0.5-1 cm. Seedlings are thinned at a distance of 20 cm. As microgreens it is suitable for year-round cultivation in bowls with a small amount of nutrient substrate or damp cotton wool. Seeds are scattered over the surface of the substrate rather thickly, moistened. The first shoots usually appear within an hour. It is important not to allow the substrate to dry out. Watercress sprouts are cut in the cotyledonous leaf phase or when the first true leaves appear.
