Herbaceous annual plant with straight, powerful, strongly branching stems, 60 cm high. Inflorescences are bright red large baskets, more than 10 cm in diameter. It has graceful, heavily dissected leaves. Photophilous and relatively cold-resistant. It is undemanding to soil and moisture, but in years with dry summers it requires watering. Ideal as a casing crop when decorating borders, flower beds, for growing in containers, patio-yards, landscaping balconies, verandas. Used for cutting.
